Rosa Mystica Institute of Business and Vocational Training (RMIBVT) was started in 1986 by the Daughters of St. Therese of the Child Jesus (Banyatereza Sisters) under the guidance of Rev. Sr. Margaret Mary Mabiiho DST, as a women’s Development centre in Fort Portal Diocese. It was established as an initiative to empower women in the Diocese, improve their welfare, that of their families and that of the entire society.   

It initially catered for the girls/ women who worked as house helpers in the convents and other Institutions which included Virika Hospital, government Institutions in the area among others.  Women’s development programs extended to parishes of Fort portal diocese.  Rosa Mystica branches were opened in some of the parishes like Yerya, Kyarusozi, Wekomire, Kamwenge etc. After improving women’s standards of living, the proprietors with Sr. Margaret Mary Mabiiho, in an evaluation exercise saw that there was a need to develop the skills of girls/women to fight poverty in the families.
